MAY
Sex. A topic we haven’t talked about yet. I only know one way to start this. It is grade 2008, I am in my first year of high school, and luckily for me, a rumor gets around about another male student and me. This all very classic high school; however, it was a great understanding moment for me. Before gym in the change rooms, a girl in an older grade decided to demand an answer from me in front of our whole class about the said rumor. My first thought, you fucking little bitch. My second thought, why do you even care?
Now, I will spare her name as she eventually gifted me her ID after high school, so all is forgiven. Thank you for getting me into Pub 340 and Seymours but fuck you for 2008. Anyways, what I took away from this moment was that there will always be some people who will associate sexual activity with shame. I have never cared what anyone said or thought about me, so I found it funny that at the moment, she cared so much. This only fuelled my confidence in my sexuality further. I am lucky that my family is cool, and a few years back in Eighties on Lonsdale, I asked my grandparents over eggs and waffles if they still banged.
OUR PEACHY LITTLE SECRET
When Monet Beswick and Elysa Mollica reached out to me in February to shoot for their sex toy company, Just X Peachy, it was a no-brainer. Being confident in my sexuality is one thing, but trying to make it a more comfortable and easy topic for everyone makes my nipples hard. It's not taboo, and it's not dirty; Sex is real life and not going away. Sorry. These two powerhouses of women always have a brilliant idea, a set in mind, props on deck, and snacks, drinks, and whatever else to make sure everyone on set is comfortable and happy. On our third and newest shoot, I asked them a couple of questions, from how they got started to which toy is their favorite.
Where did you get the name, Just X Peachy?
Elysa: I thought about it before bed once. Peaches and butts came to mind and it was during COVID in 2020. Our jobs were paused and it was a way to be creative along with a new side hustle.
What was your first sex toy?
Momo: The rabbit.
Elysa: Fun factory vibrator.
Why sex toys?
Both: To normalize masturbation and end the negative stigma around it.
Fave toy you sell?
Elysa: A clitoral rabbit vibrator by Shots.
Momo: The womanizer and the rabbit.
Plans for Just X Peachy?
Momo: Have everyone woman in B.C…no, North America, have an orgasm.
Dream model to shoot?
They both paused. “Super hard question,” says Elysa.
Both: Winnie Harlow and BERLIN!
Any advice for a young woman/femme wanting to get started in having her own business?
Elysa: Just do it. You’re not going to get anywhere by doing nothing. Take it as a creative outlet and have a backup plan. And always roll with it.
Momo: Ask for help. Be vulnerable. Everyone wants to help your dream.
How hard was it to start?
Elysa: Not hard at all. Don’t be a cheap asshole and be willing to risk it.
Models are Lindsay Kay and Natalie Ouellet.
